Please note:
Advanced notice - Fees have remained the same for many years but following September 2017 increase in hire charge for the hall and for the blackburn room, class fees will increase, but only slightly as we will absorb some of the increase, class fees will increase by 10p/20p a class for classes of £4 or under, this will be from from Jan 2018 - see above (all classes over £4 to remain the same, no fee increase).
New Policy - As of May 2017 - Contemporary Classes are only for students that also attend ballet at Gedling Ballet School, from RAD Grade 3 upwards. To progress to the Advanced Contemporary Class, students must be RAD Advanced 1 or 2 level.
New Policy - as of May 2017 - Classes at Gedling Ballet School are for students from 3 years to 19 years of age. Places are offered to new students from the waiting list after class numbers are reviewed at the start of each half term.
Pointe Work - students that progress on to pointe are expected to attend 3 ballet classes a week.
Fee Payment Policy:
Fees are payable in advance at the beginning of each half term (except pre school classes), a £10 admin charge is made for fees not settled by the end of half term. Payment is by on line bank transfer (except pre school - cash paid weekly on attendance).
Free class! - second class each week with no extra charge for Pre Primary to Grade 5 Level and Inter Stage (for example - attend two Grade 1 classes Fri and Sat and only pay for one). This does not apply to Pre School classes, Junior or Senior level Stage classes or Contemporary.
Free classes are also available at Grade 6 to Advanced 2 level, with a maximum charge 2 ballet classes a week with any additional ballet classes free.
On the rare occasion if a class is cancelled, for example due to severe weather, no refund as an alternative class is always available, same level, higher or lower, throughout the year!
Please also note we do not charge for mock exams or rehearsals!
Scholarships of 50% off GBS fees are presently awarded to students that have successfully auditioned and attend one of the following weekly Associate Schemes, this is reviewed annually -
Royal Ballet School
Northern Ballet Academy
Elmhurst Ballet School
At present we are unable to extend this to other schemes such as MIDAS, Ballet Theatre UK or Midland Ballet Theatre.
Scholarships are not offered to Dance4 CAT students as the CAT schemes has its own government funding (based on family income).
Scholarships are offered to students that only attend Gedling Ballet School, not to students attending classes outside of GBS.
Hair in a bun for all ballet classes, a neat appearance is important.
Senior students are encouraged to arrive early to warm up before class.
